Unemployed in summertime
AMP were only able to extend my contract by 2 days so I finished there on Tuesday....
I'm staying at my friends house (The Palace!) and it's going well. Apart from a bit of an ongoing saga with the battery on their car which I accidentally flattened (must have turned the lights on when indicating on the drive home from the airport and forgot to turn them back on - doh!), i've had 3 jump starts (1 from a taxi driver - made me pay him $5!), many visits to the local garage, a charge of the battery and i've finally bit the bullet and bought a new battery...so now I have a working car but not enough money to buy petrol to go anywhere with it!
It looks like I might be spending Christmas on my own...everyone I know is either going away, staying with friends or visiting family. It's no so bad tho cuz it's not like i'll even realise it's crimbo...
I have had several calls from job agencies and they all want someone who is Australian resident, seems a bit arse but there you go. Hopefully there will be more jobs going next year.
Aside from the poor Christmas situation I'm really enjoying it in Sydney; i've been meeting lots of people still (I went to 4 Christmas parties in the space of a couple of weeks - lots of free food and drink!), the weather is great, been getting some top new music. Life is good :)
